nigerian nightmare replied: "why Ford ranger?get a nissan frontier or toyota pre runner"

Craig M replied: "They're all essentially the same truck, at the same price. Other than colour, the only real differentiation between them is that the third one has 10000 fewer miles on it. Unless you really like the chrome of the first one, or you see something on one or another of the trucks that indicates possible problems, I'd say the third one is the one you buy. Although personally, I prefer the 4 cyl 2.3L duratec engine to the V6."

fershizzle replied: "third one. best condition"

Buying my first car, budget $6000? Hey guys, I just got my license, aged 16, I live in California. Well, its time for me to get a car, and my parents allow me a budget of $5500, give or take a couple hundred. I've been looking at cars, and honestly, I have no experience or knowledge in whats good in a car... I have a friend who knows a lot about cars and gives me some insight.. But anywho, I'm looking at cars with decent mileage, 80-200k... Preferably a civic or a 95' accord... or anything that runs well and looks alright... I'm not into racing or souping up cars, but I still care about how the car looks ^^. Here are a couple deals that I found interesting, just want some insight on what kind of cars I should look for and what kind of stuff I should be looking at... ...=&cardist=5 ...0&cardist=6 ...0&cardist=0 ...0&cardist=6 Thanks guys

Brain(Don't call me Harold!) replied: "Honda Accord, Civic, is a very wise choice. I wish I had that kind of common sense when I was sixteen. My first car was a Triumph Spitfire, and then a Fiat. I spent most of the time riding the bus."

Chica Bellaâ„¢ replied: "All the links say "the car is no longer listed for sale"?"

AH replied: "Don't buy a lemming car meaning a model that everyone else has got. Theft is more likely with this and if it was me I would not want to see someone else driving the same car I have each day. Civic, accord, camry, etc....are all lemming cars. For that much money you can find a nice Honda Prelude or Toyota Celica. They are great first cars since quality as well as reliability is very high. Don't buy a domestic because it will become worthless very fast."

kojak replied: "first you should consider the Japanese made cars. man I'm telling you it's very good for guys like us the engine runs good, not that heavy car and you will not have to stop at every gas station you find in your way. and if i were you i would buy the civic . by the way your link is no longer exist"

Willis C replied: "The bad thing about buying cars for several thousands dollars is most of the time teens will wreck their first car in their first year of ownership. So its like taking 6,000 & burning it in the fireplace. You could find somethig for around $1000 or so then that way you can learn to drive first without taking a $6000 risk on you're first car. I was lucky my first car lasted 10,000 miles before I got a tank full of water in my gas that hydrolocked the engine. but it was still better than that happening to a car worth alot of money."

Hakem replied: "Dude. None of your links work. Check Yahoo Autos. I saw some great deals over there:"

How is the price on this VW GTI, is it worth it? I found a 2002 VW GTI 1.8t for sale for about $5,995. This is the site:=&make3=MIT&make2=VOLKS&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&model3=3000GT&model2=R32&search_lang=en&sownerid=1327512&showZipError=y&make=VOLKS&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=22032&advanced=&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=6000&cardist=9&standard=false Is the price ok? SCRATCHES EVERYWHERE.

Beebee replied: "Thats kinda high mileage for a 2002. Go to Kelley blue book and type in the info for a private party sale and it will tell you how much it is worth and you can go form there. I havent owned a VW before, but i like them. Just know that if it breaks down foreign cars a more expensive to get parts for and repair. I just bought a 2000 Hyundai sonata a week ago off of craigslist for a $2275. It had low mileage at 77,000. You should go to craigslist and look up cars in your area they have great deals just be careful about scams cuz they are there! Good Luck!"

HannahTheSwearBear replied: "Price is a little high. Its decently fast. For me they are comforable. Pro's. they are good cars. Con's they are expensive as hell to fix. get a car fax."

fenton replied: "I agree with Beebee, visit Kelly Blue book. Just a comment on the VW's presumed high cost of parts: My neighbor and I have a friendly rivalry going . He has Honda, I have VW GTI. I respect Hondas, he respects VWs. A little. LOL We compare parts and labor at times. Guess what? VW parts/labor are no higher (or lower) than Honda. 1 example, we each had CV joints put on our cars. His price;$336. Mine;$322. There are numerous examples to this fact. So, I hope this puts to rest the myth that VW parts are high. (When you stop to think, ALL car parts for ANY car are 'high' when it comes time to open up the wallet/purse. We own 2 VWs (Jetta and GTI) and both are super reliable , fun to drive cars."

I am looking into buying a 2000 VW Cabrio convertible with 83,000 miles, fully loaded for $4000. Good buy? It sounds like a good little car. I am wanting it to do mainly city driving with very little interstate driving. I need something to get me by for the next 3 years. Anyone had this type of car before? I also need something under $6000. I'm paying cash. If not this car, something similar you recommend? If I want one of those I need more like $10,000. At least according to Autotrader it is. Yes, I think the VW is just a simple and adorable car. I am planning on calling the owner tomorrow to see why they are selling it and about inspections and such. We shall see. Thank you! Yes, there are dealerships near me. I live downtown St. Louis.

bbt91945 replied: "Look for a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic, they are highly reliable transportation vehicle and very good in gas mileage. Before you put out the money see if you can get a Car Fax or history of the vehicle. Make sure that it has not been in a major accident and a clean title. You can also look at Kelly Blue book online for the pricing of the vehicle. Hope that this will help you."

Ben H replied: "Stephanie, that looks like a great car! I can certainly see why you like it. Is there a VW dealership where you live? If not, parts and service can be a problem. Otherwise I'd feel comfortable with it following an inspection by an independent mechanic. Good luck!"

alfredb1979 replied: "Ben is half right. Parts and service is an issue. The part where he's dead wrong is that you will need servicing often and it will drain your bank account on an unwarrantied VW. Good buy? Well, people thought Enron was a great stock one time, too. But, that's why you asked first."

Thinking of buying a bmw 92 325is coupe? I'm not to sure of the specs of this car, as far as hp or torque. It looks clean, low miles and such. Let me know if you think it's a good deal also please. And you can also tell me what you think about bmws. It's either BMW or Vdubb.

Master Lee replied: "Go see it if you can, I have seen great cars in ads that look terrible in person. I have a 1990 E30 M3, I have friends with E36 325s like the one you are asking about and sadly the interior parts are rather shoddy after years of use. Parts of the doors (interior) start to sag after a while. I would stick to a 1991 318is, much better build quality or a 95-and-up M3 where even if the interior starts to fail it's still a great motor, chassis, etc. So there you go. Cheers!"

1994 audi cabriolet convertible be a good car? i am looking for a first car and i found this one. the car is in the link at the bottom. i would like to know if this would be good car for a 16 teen year old. i am either deciding between this one or a 1994 bmw convertible. i want to get something nobody else has thats why im looking at these link-http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=268301908&dealer_id=56358039&car_year=1994&rdm=1260026546521&lastStartYear=1981&model=&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=200&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=AUDI&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=50315&advanced=&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=6000&cardist=166&standard=false

Liviu 4 replied: "it's a good car, compared to most of the other at that time, BUT beware of the diesel engines, old diesel audi cars sound like tractors at idle.. so when you're at the lights you might be a bit annoyed.. Though the quality in audis has always been magnificent, go for it. Oh and also they tend to understeer, you might wanna use the brakes a bit in corners, and insurance can be a bit high but nevertheless it's a good car."

jerry replied: "its def standard. it even says standard in the description at the bottom of the page."

l<^>l replied: "umm.... if u look in the details its says automatic!!!"

Vince replied: "its manual. theres three foot pedals and the shifter is to the side. if it was automatic there would be a solid base around the shifter. not a soft leather sleeve."

luke replied: "its a manual, note the 3 pedals and the tilted sideways shifter was the manual for those years!"

Which Mustang SVT Cobra should I buy? Its time to sell my 1998 mustang GT and get a Cobra. I have found probably 12 in the area. I have narrowed it down to 3 that I like the most. 2001 - Has been raced at the track (has hood pins). Appears to be good condition. Has new clutch and Transmission is new. 67000 miles. So i could get the 01 or 99. Or I could get the 96 and put $2500 into it. DONT say to go look at them. I am going to look at them, but I just dont have the time right now. DONT tell me to get a 03-04 cobra because they are supercharged - therefor needs premium gas.

pulntubz4ever replied: "i would stay away from the one that was raced as its obviously been beat on. if you go with the 96 you could do some of the mods you want and still have some money left over. good luck"

grand lake bum replied: "go look at them get an o3-04 cobra"

RPM replied: "It's tough to find a '96 with only 71K. Comes down to whether you prefer the '94-'98 body style or the '99-'04 body style. I thoroughly enjoyed my '97 SVT Cobra - until "domestication" made me give it up. BTW - might want to check out this article link below. The '99 SVT Cobras were rumored to actually produce less power then the '96-'98 models. From the article, you'll know why the SVT team didn't release a 2000 SVT Cobra. (Cobra "R" excluded, of course.) My thoughts - the '01 has probably been driven really hard. New clutch and tranny at 67K? Tremec's are supposed to be virtually bulletproof. The '99 is ok - but I'm partial to the '94-'98 style myself. I like the '96 of the 3. The Pro 5.0 shifter is a must (I had the same - the Steeda Tri-Ax is good too) and the car already has tasteful suspension mods. You can use the money you save for a couple more power-adding mods."

I'd rather be outside replied: "I like the '99! The '01 sounds like its been beat on with a tranny replacement at only 67,000 miles... be sure to get a mechanic to do a good pre-purchase inspection so you don't get any surprises!"

g replied: "all these cars will have been beat on - more or less (its a fact of life if you are interested in a cobra) , but the engines are dependable, if they have been well looked after. whichever car you choose, spend a few $ and have a pro shop - ck it out, including a compression test. pro shop will give you a very decent view as to how the car has been looked after (suspension, condition of fluids, brakes... ......personally i would do the 01, new clutch (which all mustangs need on a regular basis) and trans is a bonus. interior looks really clean & the engine set up looks good and very well looked after. it has better wheels and it has flowmaster exhaust and 1st rate CAI - BBK, ). in addition the 01 cobra bodykit was nicer than earlier models. the 96 has nice options, in terms of handling but if you did side by side - that profile against the next profile (99-2004) vast majority of people would pick later profile. sometimes it does not matter about mileage, 5yr old parts are much older.....weaker, more prone to replacement, just happens. cheers 04 cobra (last ride:heavily modified 01 gt)"

Which is a better deal? I like the chevy tracker better as it seems to have better reviews then the suzuki, and its cheaper, but i'm concerned about the mileage.... 2002 suzuki vitara $5,995 82,000 miles 2wd automatic gasoline almost new condition city 22 mpg hwy 25 mpg =&start_year=2000&end_year=2007&min_price=3000&max_price=6000&transmission=Automatic&engine=4+Cylinder&drive=&doors=Four+Door&fuel=Gasoline&max_mileage=100000&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&certified=&advanced=y&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc= OR 2000 Chevy Tracker $3,999 144,209 miles 4wd automatic gasoline city 23 mpg hwy 25 mpg =&start_year=2000&end_year=2007&min_price=3000&max_price=6000&transmission=Automatic&engine=4+Cylinder&drive=&doors=Four+Door&fuel=Gasoline&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&certified=&advanced=y&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc= etc... The Chevy seems to have a lot more extra things, but is it worth it? There is also a few kia sportage, but i've heard really bad things on it, and that its costly to keep up the repairs (as they are never ending) suggestions?

GhoSt in ur EyeS~ replied: "the average milage per year is etamated to be 15 to 20'000 per year so if you go by that the miles on the chevy isnt bad a bad choice."

mbafromuiu replied: "Consumer Reports rates these two has worse buys. What a worse buy means is that when something goes wrong it cost a great deal to fix. It also means that major things break more often then little things. On the other hand KIA is rated as average. Truth be told I wouldn't buy the tracker for anything more then 2500 no matter how nice it seems. The Suzuki for anything more then 5K TTL included."

Yamamoto replied: "Both of these cars are scrap iron. The benz was built when chrysler and mercedes were the same company and some major quality control issues. The SLK is German built and very expensive to maintain. The Jaguar is basically a british legendary electrical and mechanical nightmare and nearly impossible to find spare ports for. Of the two cars, I would go with the benz only because it's newer and therefore easier to find spare parts for. However, if you want to buy an expensive overrated car from the 90's buy a lexus. They are overpriced and overrated but at least they are reasonably reliable."

Sustagurl2 replied: "Honestly, you can't go wrong with a Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan or Accura!"

Tony replied: "You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net"
